Cherry blossom season has arrived again this year.

Cherry blossoms in Kameoka City are scheduled to bloom around early April every year, but in 2024, they will be about one week late and the latest in full bloom.

Nana-tani River Wakaragi-no-Michi(street name) is one of the most popular cherry blossom viewing spots within Kyoto. About 1,500 cherry trees beautifully decorate the 1-km-long tree-lined avenue. The overwhelming beauty is sure to be a sight to behold.

Every year, Kameoka Sakura Week is held during the blooming period, and visitors can enjoy illuminated cherry blossoms and food stalls at night. While weekends are crowded with many people, weekdays are relatively less crowded, allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossoms in peace and quiet. There is also a chance to have the spectacular view all to yourself.

It is also easily accessible, only 8 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bicycle from Kiri no Kōbō. There are other tourist attractions scattered around the area, so you can enjoy other sights when you visit Nana-tani River!
